When the cool-as-cucumbers mamasitas over at nwaMotherlode allowed me the opportunity to contribute a regular green column, I was chomping at the bit… mostly because I knew their devoted following of northwest Arkansas moms are a lot like me. You know: full of exceptional intentions, determined to be the best mom on the block, and strong in our beliefs while at the same time often wavering about how we’re actually doing.
What really stood out to me was the opportunity to help other moms (and myself) remember to relax, not take ourselves so seriously, and remember that this is all a process. Living greener, just like parenting, is a journey with a path that becomes more obvious and stable the longer we walk along it. There is no question that in both of these areas I stumble very frequently.

I stumbled on Blue Avocado originally via my fave (but you knew that) greenification site, Practically Green. Obviously. In fact, I placed that order yesterday due to an earlier commitment I’d made on PG to eliminate single-use plastic baggies and earn the Healthy Green Lunch badge after the eight year old pointed out we’d made all but one change in that category.
