Handmade Holiday

In late 2010, I made one of my typically insane, random phone calls to the gals of Arkansas Women Bloggers: Fawn, Julie and Stephanie.  They welcomed me with open arms and I’m now fortunate to have joined them as one of four founding editors of the site.  Since then, we’ve hosted the first AWB Unplugged conference, gallivanted off to the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain for an annual planning meeting and completely relaunched the Arkansas Women Bloggers website, and in the process I can honestly say I’ve developed deep friendships with three women who should have been in my life much sooner!

If you have a chance, check out their fantastic blogs: Fawn is over at Instead of the Dishes and keeps me inspired with her outstanding writing and the depth of her blog; Julie rocks my world regularly at Eggs & Herbs: Where Creativity Meets the Farm where she shares recipes, art and general coziness; and Steph is the force behind The Park Wife, where her wisdom and wit are matched by her humor and pep… I’m pretty certain we were separated at birth, and we have some tricks up our sleeves to share in January – stay tuned!

Today, I’ve got a guest post on the Arkansas Women Bloggers site for our Handmade Holiday feature.  It’s all about the tree for the birds my daughter and I have been concocting the last few years, and it’s a little bit of a different take on holiday crafting.  Hop on over and read A Partridge in a Pear Tree? {Handmade Holiday} and be sure to peruse the site and register your own blog while you’re there!  Novice or expert, there are too many great things on the ARWB site for you to not join us.  Happy handmade holiday!
