I’ve been fortunate to become acquainted with Lynnette Watts and the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas and to recently begin serving on the NWA Advisory Council. This is an incredible woman and a fantastic organization – both are deserving of more awareness in northwest Arkansas and beyond.
Consider learning more about the WFA and their efforts to “Support Women. Strengthen Arkansas” by attending the upcoming Power of the Purse luncheons scheduled for October 5 (Northwest Arkansas) and October 26 (Central Arkansas).
I’m currently writing the posts for the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas blog, and thought I’d share links to the articles here.
- On Leadership: Lynnette’s Story (August 10, 2012)
- On the Next Generation (August 17, 2012)
- On Women and Philanthropy (September 26, 2012)
I’ve also written a number of articles for 2NJoy Magazine (check out their new website here), and recently contributed a feature on Lynnette and the WFA:
- A Rising Tide Lifts All Women (pages 33 – 35, September Issue)
As a small business owner, there is not always the opportunity to contribute substantially to fantastic organizations, but I find that offering my time and talents are just as enthusiastically received. I support the WFA by working to help them tell their phenomenal story and advance their organization. How are you applying your time and talent in your community?
