So, I’m excited to have some big (to me) news to share! I’ve accepted an incredible opportunity to join the team at StartUp Cup | Global.
I’ll still be working with clients through Magpie Marketing, which is an ideal way to stay connected to the front lines of entrepreneurs and the challenges and delights that small businesses experience every day.
StartUp Cup | Global is an impressive organization. At core, it is a global network of 60 business model competitions in 46 countries around the world that serve as catalysts in the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Local event organizers execute the competitions with the support of a broad-based team of experienced mentors, coaches, judges and community partners who are invested in helping emerging entrepreneurs work toward turning their ideas into reality: profitable businesses that create jobs and grow local economies. However, the StartUp Cup organization is more than just the competitions: it’s a team of the brightest and most experienced startup experts who are committed to the epic journey of entrepreneurs and their potential to change the world, combat poverty, develop nations and accelerate the growth of sustainable businesses.
My role will be related to PR and marketing as well as development (specifically working with sponsors). But best of all, I’ll be collaborating with one of my very favorite people – Amy Reeves Robinson – to support her in executing the World StartUp Cup on January 23 – 24 in Yerevan, Armenia.
The team behind StartUp Cup | Global is top-notch, and they move at a hundred miles an hour, take no prisoners pace. They bring a diverse array of life and professional experienceto the table, as illustrated (literally) in this page at the front of a fresh, clean and highly functional notebook given to me by StartUp Cup CEO Sean Griffin:
I love one of the StartUp Cup taglines: Stop talking, start doing! This is going to be fun.
